Hypercalcemia of malignancy. Multiple myeloma. Bone metastases from solid tumors. Pagets disease. Osteoporosis in postmenopausal women.Contraindication: What are the special precautions to be followed?
Under following conditions, use of this medication is inadvisable. Its use should be withhold as it would cause harm to the patientHypersensitivity. Severe renal impairment. Pregnancy, lactation and children.
Other Precaution to be observed while taking this medication
Electrolyte imbalance. Congestive heart failure. Hepatic insufficiency. Asthma (aspirin sensitive). Infection, anaemia, pre-existing viral disease, trauma, coagulation disorders.What are possible side effects of this medication ?
Common: Pancytopenia, confusion, nausea, flu like syndrome, fatigue, arthalgia, bradycardia, fever, thirst, renal impairment, taste perversion, electrolyte disturbances. Uncommon: Thrombocytopenia, conjunctivitis, vomiting, skeletal pain, chest pain, hypophosphataemia, hypomagnesiumia, headache, pruritus, rash. Rare: Local reactions at infusion site.
