Tuberculosis. Prophylaxis against meningococcal meningitis and haemophilus influenzae meningitis. Leprosy.
Contraindication: What are the special precautions to be followed?
Under following conditions, use of this medication is inadvisable. Its use should be withhold as it would cause harm to the patient Hypersensitivity. Severe hepatic disease. Prophyria. Pregnancy.
Other Precaution to be observed while taking this medication
Hepatic and renal functions. Elderly. Malnourished or very young patients. Alcoholism. Concurrent administration of anticoagulants or oral contraceptives. Lactation.
What are possible side effects of this medication ?
GI disturbances, paseudoemembrnous colitis, influenza-like sypmtoms, skin reactions, eosinophilia, transient leucopenia, thrombocytopenia, purpura, visual disturbances, menstrual irregularities. Reddish coloured urine and tears. Hepatitis or shock like syndrome with hepatic involvement.
