Grandmal, cortica focal and psychomotor epilepsy. Migraine, Trigeminal neuralgia, cardiac arrhythmias.

Contraindication: What are the special precautions to be followed?

Under following conditions, use of this medication is inadvisable. Its use should be withhold as it would cause harm to the patient
AV block. Pregnancy, lactation and children.

Other Precaution to be observed while taking this medication

Monitor ECG during therapy, may inhibit insulin release. Hepatic impairment. Drug should be withdrawn gradually. Haemopoietic complications.

What are possible side effects of this medication ?

Gum hypertrophy, hirsutism (troublesome in young girls) and acne, Rashes, DLE, lymphadenopathy, neutropenia, megaloblastic anaemia, osteomalacia, hyper glycaemia. Cerebellar and vestibular manifestations, ataxia, vertigo, diplopia, nystagmus, drowsiness, nausea, vomiting, fall in BP.
