Indication : Why is this medication prescribed?

Pain and inflammation in osteoarthritis and in rheumatoid arthritis, acute gout.

Contraindication: What are the special precautions to be followed?

Under following conditions, use of this medication is inadvisable. Its use should be withhold as it would cause harm to the patient
Severe congestive heart failure, active peptic ulceration. Children and adolescent below 16 years.

Other Precaution to be observed while taking this medication

Allergic disorders, coagulation defects, history of cardiac failure, left ventricular dysfunction, hypertension, or in patients with oedema due to other reasons, elderly, renal, cardiac or hepatic impairment. Withdraw treatment if GI lesions develop, caution when admin to dehydrated patients. Regular BP monitoring is advisable. May mask fever and other signs of infection.

What are possible side effects of this medication ?

GI disorders, ischemic cardiac events, hypersensitivity reactions, headache, dizziness, nervousness, depression, drowsiness, insomnia, vertigo, tinnitus, photosensitivity, blood disorders, fluid retention, hypertension, dry mouth, taste disturbance, mouth ulcers, appetite and weight changes, chest pain, fatigue, paraesthesia, influenza like syndrome, myalgia. Renal toxicity.
