Indication : Why is this medication prescribed?
Prevention of deep vein thrombosis.Risk reduction for pulmonary embolism secondary thrombus formation during haemodialysis. Prophylaxis of VTE during surgical procedures. Unstable angina.
Contraindication: What are the special precautions to be followed?
Under following conditions, use of this medication is inadvisable. Its use should be withhold as it would cause harm to the patient Hypersensitivity, acute septic endocarditis, hemorrhagic stroke, peptic ulcer history of thrombocytopenia.
Other Precaution to be observed while taking this medication
Haemorrhage, thromocytopenia, local reactions. Renal or hepatic impairment, history of GI ulceration, uncontrolled hypertension, spinal or epidural anaesthesia, lactation and pregnancy, elderly. Periodic blood counts, platelet count and stool occult blood test recommended.
What are possible side effects of this medication ?
Hepatic insufficiency, peptic ulcer, arterial hypertension, diabetic nephropathy, spinal anaesthesia and epidural block pregnancy and lactations. Do not administer I.M. Thrombocytopenia, mild bleeding, Inj site irritation, pain and ecchymoses, hypersensitivity and erythema. Haemorrhagic complications.
