Indication : Why is this medication prescribed?
Hemodynamic imbalance present in shock syndome caused by hepovolaemia, myocardial infarction, trauma, endotoxemia, septicaemia, open heart surgery, acute renal failure and chronic cardiac decompensation in congestive failure.
Contraindication: What are the special precautions to be followed?
Under following conditions, use of this medication is inadvisable. Its use should be withhold as it would cause harm to the patient Pheochromocytoma, uncorrected tachycardia, ventricular fibrillation and hyperthyroidism. Hypersensitivity.
Other Precaution to be observed while taking this medication
Shock secondary to MI, history of peripheral vascular disease. Correct hypovolaemia before infusion. History of occlusive vascular disease e.g. atherosclerosis, Raynauds disease, Buergers disease, diabetic endarteritis, disproportionate increase in diastolic pressure. Pregnancy.
What are possible side effects of this medication ?
